Happy Holidays

Please join us for the 2nd Annual Sweet Charity Holiday Party!

We have a lot to celebrate. In just 2 years, you have helped Sweet Charity raise over $35,000!! With your help, we are supporting nonprofits in our area and making a difference in our community.

This holiday season, we will be fighting hunger in NYC with City Harvest -- their biggest food drive of the year is running now through January 31:

If you can't join us for happy hour, please consider donating cans food to any NYC firehouse or police station.

But, If you can join us for some merriment and good cheer, we hope you like $5 domestic beer, mojitos, sangria, and margaritas!

Hope you see you to there. And of course, feel free to spread the cheer to your friends and family. All are invited!!

This month's event will be raising money for Bilingual Education for Central America (BECA).

BECA is a non-profit organization that recruits volunteer teachers to work for a year at a bilingual school in Honduras. BECA recruits 10-13 teachers each year to work at San Jeronimo Bilingual School (SJBS) in Cofradia, Honduras. In exchange, SJBS offers full and partial scholarships to low-income families in the community. The scholarship program allows many poor children in Cofradia the opportunity to receive a bilingual education, a privilege that is usually only available to upper class families in Honduras.

We hope to see you and your T-shirt there!

P.S. If you need some inspiration, check out a few of last year's favorites!

A Message from Mercy Center

Nice job, people!! This thank you just came in:

Amanda-

The check arrived yesterday and the DB paperwork arrived today. Thank you so much! We really appreciate it!

The total that Sweet Charity raised for Mercy Center will be $1520. This is equivalent to the cost of English as a Second Language (ESL)classes and a range of support programs for 1 ESL student and their family for an entire year. You and Liz and the rest of the Sweet Charity girls should feel very good about this return on all your hard work! Thank you soo much!

I hope to see you guys on Wednesday. It sounds like lots of fun!

Take care,
Sinead
